Meet Seth

Seth

Overview

Seth is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and holds a masters degree from Johns Hopkins University.  When not working, you can find Seth going for a run along Patterson Park or at the dog park with his dog Molly.

How did you get into the Real Estate business?

I bought my very first home just before the burst of the U.S. real estate bubble.  Years later, when life events forced me to move, I found that my home had lost over 30% of its value! Since selling my home was not an option, I decided to convert it to my very first rental property. I lost money every month. The house was definitely not a good investment!

Determined to make up the monthly loss of my first rental property, I became a student of real estate.  I read every book on the topic, attended every investor club meeting I could find and eventually obtained a real estate license. In 2009, I bought my first home to renovate and sell and I was hooked!

In 2015 I quit my day job as a software engineer to pursue my real estate interests full-time.

What is your favorite part of your work?
Building a business from scratch!  Everyday is a new challenge and it’s rarely easy.  Whether or not I’m building a home or a business, I enjoy the act of creating new things.

Meet Ryan

Overview

Ryan is a 12-year veteran of the Baltimore City Fire Department.  His appreciation for the people and the architecture of Baltimore City has developed his mission to ensure Baltimore continues to grow to its full potential. Ryan knows from experience that great neighbors make great neighborhoods. Restoring homes in Baltimore City supports this mission.

What is your favorite part of your work?

For Ryan, the most fulfilling way Potomac connects with clients is through preservation.  Bringing people who have moved on from homes their families have owned for generations back to see the finished product feels good.  Giving people the peace of mind that their home has been preserved for the next generation.
